Slope Forecast:
Visit the Windfinder site for a very accurate 3day hour by hour weather forecast for Glasgow.
Brownside Farm is a small slope which is quite deceptive. It is higher and has a steeper gradient than it looks from the road. There are no obstructions and a good 10mph+ easterly wind will produce nice lift.
Fly from the path area. Don't overfly the bushes behind you; the rotor is terrible and it will kill the lift dead. Landing zone is usually best/easier to drop it into the long grass in-front of you rather than deal with the bushes.
Slope Information:
The farm buildings are now abandoned but the fields are still used for grazing. Please use caution if the cows are in the field and keep dogs on a lead if they are. This field is part of the Gleniffer Braes Park. The border between Paisley and Glasgow is the burn that runs downhill to the right of the flying position.
To access the slope; park in the car park off Caplethill Road(red star). Walk up past the abandoned farm buildings. When the farm path goes right, turn left into the top field. Go through the gate; make sure you leave it closed if cows are in the field. Follow the path on the right to the top of the hill.(fly from the purple arrow)
